Welcome

Welcome students and parents to 5th grade!!! I am very excited as we begin the 2010-11 school year. This will be my 26th year at SAS!!! WOW!! That sounds like a long time(IT IS!!!!) I have enjoyed every (well, MOST) minutes of those years!! I look forward to getting to know students and parents this year. I have a S.S. in Education from Drake U. and a M.A. from Viterbo U. I'm in the 3rd year of a sisters/cousins/friend BOOK CLUB and I love it. It enables me/us to be exposed to genres we haven't read. In my free time I love to read, attend my son's sporting events and spend time with my family. I have two daughters living is Arizona (YES, we love to go down to Spring Training games in MARCH), a son in construction and a high school senior. 5th Grade	Room 208

Homework

In 5th grade students should have a small amount of assignments that need to be completed at home. Some of these could be to finish a math assignment, practice Spelling word, work on basic mutiplication and division, read 20-30 minute etc.

Assignments should be written down in the student plan book everyday.

Reading-- Read 30 minutes every night!!!

Computer-Tues and Thurs Focus on Type to Learn (1st trimester)

In January the students will use web sites to gather info about explorers.

Guidance-Thurs. 10:15 We use the McGee and Me series of videos the students watch them in Homeroom use a study guide and then discuss when they go to Guidance class. Class is divided into two groupsa (SIDE A, B)
