Our Ministry Objectives

Objective 1- Send sympathy card to family of deceased member of St. Anthony’s Church, with spiritual healing booklet enclosed. Entitled, (Grief...reminders for healing. by Gale Massey, M.S.)  Provided by St. Anthony’s Church Des Moines, IA 244-4709 is printed on the back of booklet.

Objective 2- Provide (free of charge) Care Notes in the back of St. Anthony Church for interested parish members. Sample titles: Finding Your Way After the Death of a Spouse, Overcoming Loneliness After Loss, and Grieving the Loss of Your Parent. Abbey Press prints these booklets. (Our parishioners are using them). 

Objective 3- Meet in St. Anthony’s lower church library with speaker trained in the subject of grief. Meetings to be announced in the bulletin and new members are telephoned with time and subject. Committee members are there with comforting words. Refreshments are served.

Objective 4- Representative of committee attends All Souls Day Mass and visits with family of deceased members of St. Anthony’s Parish.

Grief Support Ministry Needs

The Grief Support Ministry always welcomes donations to cover the following costs:

-Care Notes displayed in the back of the church
-Stamps
-Booklets sent in the sympathy cards mailed to family of parishioners who have died
