Welcome
On this page, you will find information on Casa Hogar - a project started by Fr. Kirby (Resident Priest at Dowling and Associate at Christ the King Church). The need was discovered by Father Kirby, while in Venezuela on an Operation Smile visit. The Casa Hogar Orphanage is located in Barinas, Venezuela. It is home to 45 girls from ages 4 through 16. The most difficult issue these girls face is abandonment and neglect from the people who are suppose to love them the most — their families. They have a deep need for love and affirmation. The girls of Casa Hogar also lack basic human needs of food, clothing, medical support, and more.
About Casa Hogar of Iowa — Who We Are!
Casa Hogar of Iowa, Inc. is made up of a group of people, who have fallen in love with the orphaned girls of Casa Hogar in Barinas, Venezuela. Allison Kinney and Father Jim Kirby first visited the orphanage in October 2003. Since then, others have visited the orphanage, while still others have supported Casa Hogar through financial donations, along with medical, school and other much-needed supplies.
We are a group of people whose lives have been touched
by Casa Hogar and its inhabitants. We hope you will join us in the venture.

CASA HOGAR INFORMATION
There are already many folks from St. Anthony's and Christ the King Parishes involved, as well as many people and companies around the Des Moines Diocese.
This is a perfect opportunity to share your Stewardship gifts of Time, Talent, and Treasure and stretch beyond our local community to help these girls in great need. While Fr. Kirby and others have done great work here, there is more to be done.
Please consider this cause as a way to extend your Stewardship Gifts to those in greater need than us.
Thanks in advance for learning about this ministry and how you can help!!
