Fr. Michael Amadeo

Pastor

Fr. Michael Amadeo’s home parish is St. Anthony. Growing up on the southside of Des Moines he attended St. Anthony’s grade school and Dowling Catholic high school. After graduating from St. Ambrose College with a B.A. in Psychology in 1986 he taught two years at Loyola High School in Mankato, MN. In 1988 Fr. Michael entered seminary formation. He was ordained a priest on June 12, 1992. He has served the parishes of Sacred Heart, West Des Moines; St. Mary-Holy Cross, Elkhart; Holy Trinity, Des Moines, and Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart in Ankeny. He has post-graduate studies in Canon Law from Catholic University in Washington, DC.

In addition to being pastor, he has served the diocese in the role of Vicar General and currently serve as Vicar for Priests. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing with his dog Miss Hilary, and reading.

Fr. Rodrigo Mayorga

Parochial Vicar

Fr. Rodrigo Mayorga Landeros is originally from the state of Jalisco, Mexico. He moved to the U.S. at the age of 11 and settled, along with his family, in Osceola, IA. After graduating from Clarke Community High School in 2014, his call to the priesthood lead him to one of the most populated cities in the world: Mexico City. There he began his seminary formation and studies in philosophy. In 2018 he returned to the United States to continue his seminary formation at the Saint Paul Seminary in St. Paul, MN. He was ordained along with Fr. Nick Smith and Fr. Alex Kramer on June 24, 2022 at the St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines. Now he is serving as the parochial vicar at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Fr. Jomi Joseph

Parochial Vicar

Fr. Jomi Joseph grew up in the state of Kerala, in India. He is the third child of four to his father, Mr. Joseph, and his late mother, Rosamma. His sister is a nun of the Franciscan Congregation in Kerala, India.

He attended primary school at his home parish school, St. Joseph Higher Secondary School. He went to Marian College Kuttikkanam, India and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Business Administration. After college, he joined the Diocesan Seminary of Kanjirapally in Kerala, India. He pursued theology and a licentiate in dogmatic theology at Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy, and was ordained a priest on October 2, 2014.

Fr. Jomi has been serving in the Diocese of Des Moines since October 2023. He spent several years of his priesthood in both India and Spain before coming to serve in the Diocese of Des Moines. He served as the Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of America and St. Joseph in Des Moines before coming to St. Anthony’s as Parochial Vicar in 2024.
